FREE STYLE SPARRING (San Shou) is fighting practice using T’ai Chi skills against free-moving “adversaries” (your training partners), at close to real life speed, but in a controlled environment, for safety. In my school, this is an optional activity, for students specifically interested in developing martial skills for self-defense as part of their T’ai Chi Study.
